Seasonal HVAC ad creative
If your HVAC ads look the same in August and in March, one of those months is lying. Southeast weather is the calendar. Creative should follow it — because August creative does not survive a March morning.
I grew an electric and HVAC shop with my own marketing spend. Real tests, not theory. How Lead Junkie got built.
Stop running one creative year-round
I’m Joey. I spent $750k of my own money learning marketing while growing a shop from $2.1M to $7M. The creative that filled trucks in July was not the creative that filled them in the shoulder. Same logo. Different pain.
Southeast summers are no-cool and humidity. Shoulders are tune-ups, memberships, and empty-truck weeks. Winters are heat pumps and furnaces — and shops that only filmed AC all year show up empty-handed. More context: Southeast HVAC marketing and Florida HVAC contractor marketing.
Summer: match the panic, don’t sell a brochure
No-cool. “The house can’t keep up.” Search and LSA carry a lot of this — see AC not cooling ads and HVAC Google Ads. Social still works when the clip shows the job, not a lifestyle montage.
- Hook on the problem in the first second: dead AC, sweating house, kids can’t sleep
- Show a real tech and a real unit — film it: turn HVAC job videos into ads
- Send traffic to a phone-first page, not a brand story — landing pages that don’t waste spend
- Don’t lead with membership-only messaging when the market is on fire unless that is truly the play
Shoulder: fill trucks before you buy more cold leads
Tune-ups, memberships, IAQ, the list. Empty trucks show up here. This is when reactivation and membership marketing beat another cold lead vendor. Creative should sound like an owner who already knows their past customers — not a billboard for strangers.
Winter: have the heat clip before the cold front
Heat pumps and furnaces. If you only filmed cooling content all year, you have nothing ready when the front hits. Plan the clip in October. Same rule as summer: real job, real talk, captions on.
Season → message → primary channel (Southeast pattern, not a law)
| Season | Creative job | Where it usually works |
|---|---|---|
| Peak summer | No-cool / emergency repair | Google / LSA first; Meta/TikTok for proof clips |
| Late summer | Replacement + financing talk (honest) | Meta conversations + site |
| Shoulder | Tune-up / membership / list | Email/SMS reactivation + Meta |
| Winter | Heat / heat pump | Search + short job videos |
How to test without inventing vanity metrics
Post organic first. See what stops homeowners. Then put spend behind winners — don’t boost random posts. Structured testing: HVAC Meta creative testing. Measure booked jobs, not applause.
Joey’s shop Meta examples (customers tied to spend): 31 / ~$1,800 and 25 / ~$700. Those are my numbers — not a template for your market.

FAQ
- Should my Meta ads change every season?
- The offer and hook should. Your brand can stay consistent. Running peak-summer no-cool creative into a mild March is how you burn money.
- Is Google or Meta better in summer?
- For active no-cool intent, Search/LSA usually carry the emergency. Meta and TikTok help with proof and conversations — compare roles on Facebook ads vs Google ads for HVAC.
- What should I film in the shoulder season?
- Tune-up walkthroughs, membership pitches you already give in person, and honest “why service now” clips — then reactivate the list.
- Can I reuse one landing page all year?
- Only if the headline and CTA match the ad. Summer no-cool traffic should not land on a generic lifestyle homepage.
- Will Lead Junkie invent seasonal CPL targets?
- No. We use your booked-job math and Southeast weather reality — not a blog table of fake benchmarks.
