HVAC SMS marketing

HVAC SMS marketing is speed-to-lead, not spam

If a no-cool hits voicemail, the next shop texts first and gets the driveway. HVAC SMS marketing that matters is missed-call text-back, estimate follow-up, and permissioned reactivation — not blasting “WE INSTALL AC” to a bought list.

I grew an electric and HVAC shop with my own marketing spend. Real tests, not theory. How Lead Junkie got built.

Missed-call text-back

Someone called about a unit that isn’t cooling. You were on another job. A text in two minutes that says you’ll call, with a real person behind it, beats an email tomorrow. That’s HVAC SMS. That’s operations.

In a Southeast July, the homeowner with a dead AC is calling down the list. Whoever answers — or texts back first — usually gets the visit. Missed-call text-back is the cheapest insurance on the ad spend you already paid for. More here: missed-call text-back for HVAC.

Forms and after-hours leads

Meta Instant Forms and website forms come in at 9pm. If nobody touches them until 10am, you didn’t buy a lead — you rented a notification. An automatic text that sounds human, followed by a real person as soon as the office opens, keeps that lead warm.

This is where most HVAC lead gen actually breaks. Channel fit matters (Forms vs Messenger), but the text and the callback matter more. Full playbook: HVAC speed-to-lead, including after-hours.

Estimate follow-up by text

Homeowners read texts. They don’t always read a PDF estimate. A short text the same week — “Any questions on the two options Mike went over?” — gets replies that a “just checking in” email never will. Sequence ideas: follow-up after the estimate.

What a good HVAC text looks like

It reads like a person at your shop sent it. Because a person at your shop should be able to answer it.

  • Their name and your shop name — no mystery numbers
  • The reason: their call, their estimate, their tune-up, their renewal
  • One question or one next step, not a menu
  • A real reply path during business hours
  • Easy opt-out, and quiet hours respected

Don’t buy lists

Bought SMS lists for HVAC are how you get complained on and still don’t book. We use people who called you, wrote you, or already had a tech in the house — with permission.

Business texting has real rules — consent, opt-outs, carrier registration for business numbers. I’m not your lawyer; your texting provider and attorney should sign off on your setup. My rule is simpler: if you wouldn’t call them, don’t text them.

Reactivation and memberships by text

Shoulder season in Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas is when texting your own list keeps trucks moving. Last summer’s repair customers without a plan, lapsed members, “call me in the fall” estimates. See reactivation campaigns, membership marketing, and empty trucks.

Joey’s shop labels (not client case studies): $750k own marketing spend growing electric + HVAC about $2.1M → $7M, Meta tests like 31 booked on $1,800 and 25 on $700 (results). None of that books if nobody follows up. SMS is how the follow-up happens at speed.

Measure booked jobs

Track reply rate, booked visits, and revenue from texted leads — not messages sent. Compare channels honestly: cost per lead vs cost per booked job. Email supports SMS for longer recaps: HVAC email marketing. Hub: HVAC lead generation.

FAQ

What is missed-call text-back for HVAC?
An automatic text sent when a call goes unanswered, telling the caller a real person will call back — followed by an actual callback. It keeps no-cool calls from going to the next shop.
Is SMS marketing spam?
Blasting bought lists is. Texting people who called, booked, or got an estimate from you — with permission and opt-out — is follow-up.
Should texts be automated or manual?
Automate the first touch for speed; a human takes over the conversation. Fully automated back-and-forth usually reads like a bot.
Does SMS replace calling?
No. Text gets the reply; phone closes the big tickets. Use both.
Do you publish SMS package prices?
Published plans: Google Ads management, SEO, and Meta + TikTok Ads (together) are $1,500/month each, month to month, no contract. See pricing. For anything outside those plans, call 786-910-6062 or contact.
