HVAC Local Services Ads

HVAC Local Services Ads without the magic-switch story

Google Local Services Ads can put an HVAC contractor at the top of search with a Google Screened (or Guaranteed, where offered) badge. They cannot fix a thin review profile, a shop that doesn’t answer, or a service area you don’t actually run.

I grew an electric and HVAC shop with my own marketing spend. Real tests, not theory. How Lead Junkie got built.

What has to be true before LSA is worth it

I grew an electric and HVAC shop with my own marketing spend. How Lead Junkie got built — Joey’s $750k own-spend story and $2.1M → $7M growth at Joey’s shop, labeled as such, not client case studies. About.

  • License, insurance, and background checks Google requires
  • Reviews that are real — velocity and responses matter
  • A dispatcher or CSR who picks up
  • Service categories that match jobs you want (repair vs install mix)
  • Geo you can actually cover without wrecking tech drive time

LSA bills for leads. Voicemail still loses the job.

If those leads hit voicemail, you paid Google to lose the job. Fix speed-to-lead before you scale LSA budget.

LSA also does not replace a website that explains what you do. It is a channel. It is not a company. See HVAC website design.

LSA vs Google Search ads

Some HVAC shops should run both. Some should run one. It depends on review velocity, budget, and whether you can staff the calls. We pick it on the quote call — not from a blog that says “always turn on LSA.”

Search money page: HVAC Google Ads. Product depth: Google Ads services. Channel comparison: Facebook ads vs Google ads for HVAC.

Disputes, junk, and “guaranteed leads”

“Guaranteed leads” marketing from agencies is usually junk language. What matters: was it in area? Was it a real HVAC job you sell? Did your team answer and attempt to book?

Dispute invalid leads when Google’s rules support it. Don’t confuse “I didn’t close it” with “invalid.” Closing is sales + price + follow-up — see follow-up after the estimate.

Southeast seasonality

In Florida heat (and the broader Southeast), no-cool demand spikes hard. LSA competition and lead volume move with weather. Capacity planning matters more than “max budget” bravado. Context: HVAC marketing for the Southeast. Emergency creative/search pairing: AC not cooling ads.

How Lead Junkie helps with LSA

We don’t sell LSA as a magic switch. On the quote call we check reviews, dispatch, and whether Search or Meta should carry more of the load. Stack overview: services and HVAC lead generation.

Google Ads, SEO, and Meta + TikTok Ads are $1,500/month each, no contract — see pricing. Get a quote.

LSA readiness checklist (be honest)

If you skip this list and “just turn LSA on,” you are buying leads for a shop that is not ready to catch them. Read it out loud before you raise the budget.

  • Can you clear Google’s license / insurance / background path without inventing paperwork?
  • Do you have real reviews you respond to — or a quiet profile Google will bury?
  • Who answers the phone after 5pm in July, and what is the text-back path?
  • Are your LSA categories limited to jobs you actually want and can staff?
  • Do you know how to dispute junk — and how not to dispute a real job you simply didn’t close?

Proof from Joey’s shop

Operator proof only: Joey’s own $750k marketing education and shop growth $2.1M → $7M. Meta examples (31 booked on $1,800, 25 on $700) are Joey’s shop tests — different channel than LSA, same rule: booked jobs beat lead vanity.

FAQ

Do you guarantee LSA leads?
No. Guaranteed “leads” is usually junk. We care whether the conversation can book.
Is LSA better than SEO?
Different jobs. LSA buys visibility now if you qualify. SEO compounds service pages and Maps presence over time. Many shops need both plus answering the phone.
Should residential and commercial share one LSA profile strategy?
Usually you want clarity on what you sell and can staff. Don’t advertise categories that create junk you will reject all day.
What if my reviews are weak?
Fix review generation and response habits before pouring budget into LSA. Reviews are part of the product Google is selling next to your name.
LSA vs Meta for HVAC?
Meta is not a substitute for high-intent “AC repair near me.” Use Meta for offers, memberships, and conversations — Meta Forms vs Messenger. Use LSA/Search for intent.
