Why HVAC Facebook ads turn into junk
HVAC owners don’t fail at Facebook because “leads are dead.” They fail because the campaign is built to collect names, not to book a truck. Here’s the pattern I keep seeing.
I grew an electric and HVAC shop with my own marketing spend. Real tests, not theory. How Lead Junkies got built.
The offer is mush
“Free estimate” with no edge attracts shoppers. A tune-up with a real next step, a membership with a reason, or a no-cool path that sets expectations will still get tire-kickers — fewer of them, and your CSR can tell the difference.
Forms with nobody on the other end
Instant Forms are a machine for volume. Volume feels like marketing. Then you call at 11am the next day and the homeowner already had three techs in the driveway. Messenger has the same problem if the inbox is a graveyard.
Boosted posts are not a strategy
Boosting a random install photo because it “looked professional” is how CPMs go up and booked jobs don’t. If it didn’t work organic, paid will not save it. Film the job. Talk like a tech. Then put money behind the clip that already got comments.
What to do instead
Pick forms or messages on purpose. Match creative to no-cool vs changeout vs membership. Measure booked conversations, not lead count. If you want that built for your shop, get a quote.
