Lead Junkie

Joey’s shop — $750k

I spent $750,000 of my own money on marketing

That number is mine. I was running an electric and HVAC business, teaching myself ads, Google, social, websites, and lead gen with money that came out of the company — not a client retainer. This page is that story. It is not a Lead Junkie case study.

I grew an electric and HVAC shop with my own marketing spend. Real tests, not theory. How Lead Junkies got built.

What “own money” means

These numbers are from Joey Donohue’s own electric and HVAC business and from his TikTok @joeymarketing_homesvs. They are not Lead Junkie client case studies, not a guarantee, and not a promise for your zip.

I did not learn HVAC marketing from a course and then rebrand it. I spent $750,000 testing social, paid ads, Google, websites, and just about every lead-gen pitch that hits a contractor inbox. Some of it booked work. Some of it was junk. The education was the spend.

On TikTok I have said getting better at digital marketing takes meaningful ad spend, and that $750,000 figure is the one I already used in public. I am not adding a new ROAS, a new CPL, or a fake “average client” on top of it.

What that spend actually bought

It bought the difference between a boosted post and a real Meta campaign. It bought Forms vs Messenger the hard way. It bought Google keywords that look cheap until you see they are DIY. It bought the lesson that follow-up is the campaign.

The same years, the shop grew from $2.1 million to $7 million. Those two facts sit together on this site because they happened in the same business. They still are not a promise that your HVAC company will print the same P&L if you hire Lead Junkie.

Why HVAC owners should care

Most “HVAC marketing agencies” have never sat on a no-cool board in July. I did. The $750k is the receipt. If you want that applied to Meta, TikTok, Google, SEO, or a site for your Southeast shop, get a quote. Bring what you spend now. I will tell you if ads are even worth running.

FAQ

Is $750,000 a Lead Junkie media budget?
No. It is Joey’s own money while running his electric and HVAC company.
